A worldwide participatory public-art project
If there’s anything you need, come to Sevown. Share a request and contribute to a growing portrait of what people around the world say they require.
Participation is free. This is an art and research project, not a request-fulfillment, professional-advice, funding, government, or emergency service. A request may inform aggregated research and future creative works; direct quotation or public attribution depends on the choices you make below.
The installation
State something you require—from the practical to the personal, social, creative, or civic. Do not include sensitive or confidential information.
Requests may be reviewed, categorized, compared, summarized, and interpreted to identify shared themes and emerging patterns.
De-identified themes may inform aggregated research, creative works, exhibitions, publications, and future public initiatives. Direct use follows your selected permissions.
Privacy by design
Sevown & Associates LLC operates the Sevown Request Board. Your identifying information will not be publicly displayed unless you separately choose attributed display. Removing a name does not always make a distinctive story unidentifiable, so submissions selected for public use should also receive human review and redaction.
Participate
Write plainly. Your request does not need to be polished, but it should not contain sensitive information.
Privacy and participation notice
This notice describes the intended project design. Confirm the stated retention periods, technical practices, and legal terms with qualified privacy counsel before collecting real submissions worldwide.
The Request Board gathers and interprets requests as participatory public art. Submissions may inform thematic analysis, aggregated research, creative works, exhibitions, publications, and future public initiatives according to the permissions selected.
Submitting is free. “Consideration” means potential receipt and review for project purposes. It does not promise assistance, acceptance, investigation, funding, referral, response, performance, confidentiality, or any particular outcome.
The project may collect the request, category, optional public name or alias, broad location, optional email, consent selections, submission time, and related administrative records. Hosting systems may also create ordinary security logs.
Identifying details are not publicly displayed by default. Direct quotation and attribution depend on the participant’s display choice. Because a distinctive narrative can remain identifiable after names are removed, public selections should be reviewed and redacted before use.
Human reviewers and automated tools, potentially including artificial intelligence, may assist with screening, categorization, summarization, translation, and theme identification. A human should review material before it is directly published or exhibited.
Information may be processed and stored in the United States using contracted hosting, security, communications, analytics, and project-administration providers. Access should be limited to people and providers who need it to operate the project.
Raw submissions and consent records may be retained for up to three years after submission. Optional contact information may be retained for up to two years unless permission is withdrawn sooner. Published, anonymized, or aggregated outputs may be retained as part of the permanent creative record.
Participants may request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of optional permissions by emailing sevown@sevown.com. Requests can be honored for retained source records, but removal may be impossible after material has been anonymized, aggregated, printed, exhibited, or incorporated into a completed work.
The project will not sell participants’ personal information or individual submissions. This does not prevent publication, exhibition, licensing, or distribution of project works created within the permissions participants grant.
Participation is limited to people age 18 or older. Do not submit information about a minor or on behalf of another person unless a separately documented process expressly authorizes it.
The project is not monitored for emergencies. Do not submit sensitive records, immediate safety matters, unlawful content, private third-party information, or material that infringes another person’s rights. Prohibited material may be removed without notice.
The Sevown Request Board is operated by Sevown & Associates LLC. It is a private participatory art project—not a government agency, court, public authority, public utility, emergency service, charity, grantmaker, lender, or licensed professional practice.
